About a month ago, Target Style ran an ad for their Summer Beauty Bag giveaway which had samples of "must have" products for the summer. Like anyone else who likes free stuff, I logged in through Facebook, gave them my information and they confirmed that my beauty bag would be here in 6-8 weeks. Fast forward to June 12th and this is what comes in. Was there anything that I could use in here? Well, let's find out.

Experimenting with: The Curly Girl Method
It's funny how two people can have a good, long chit chat over curly hair. The story is that me and my internship supervisor had a good, long discussion about curly hair-we talked about how to take care of curly hair, products and the eternal struggles of taking care of curly hair and the eternal enemy humidity. Well, one thing led to another and then she let me borrow her copy of the ever so famous, much discussed Curly Girl: The Handbook by Lorraine Massey and Michele Bender. So now that I've read this book several times, here's my takeaway:
My last semester
Hello, checking in again!
So I sit here 3 months after my last post (oops!) pondering what I'm going to make of my last semester in school. Weird for me is that my last semester is going to be 100% work experience with few seminars. No more lectures, no more hurrying to do readings at the last minute and (thankfully) no more exams.
This transition is going to be weird for several reasons. Weird in that I get to pretend to go to work for 3 1/2 months and yet, I can still participate in undergrad life as I am still an undergrad. Also, I have to wear real work clothes (in which I will update in a future post). The part that really hasn't hit me yet is that a lot of kids that I went to school with will no longer be there because they've already started their post-grad lives. So the days in which you can scroll through your phone book and just call up someone and say "Hey let's meet for lunch at Chipotle" are over because they're already at work...and technically, so am I.
Also, my new project is to make new friends as an adult. This sounds like an impossible task because alot most people make these kinds of relationships in college. I have no idea how to go about with this except to go to work, make connections and sometimes, hit up a bar but I can make this happen. I will push my anxieties aside and make this work!
Anywho, this was such a pointless post except to put my thoughts together. After I get ready for my second internship today (eek!) I'll prepare that work clothes post as soon as I press the publish button! :D
Be great!
