Crossroad

I just remembered this blog existed today while I was at work.

Since my last post in January, quite a few things have happened. So far, I have:

  • Started my first job out of college
  • Quit said job (it was a career move, not because I didn't like my job. However, I was becoming complacent in my job, so that made my decision easier)
  • Went to my first USMNT game
  • Went to my first wedding
  • Saw the Backstreet Boys (I've been wanting to see them since I was 8!)
Yet, I feel like I haven't done much. Often times, I am guilty of comparing myself to my peers-those who are traveling, those who have fallen madly in love with someone else, those who have packed their bags and move to a new city...you get the idea.

Well, enough of that! Take some advice from Ferris Bueller-Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Just stop and take a look around at where you are and where you're going. Personally, I don't stop and take a look at what it took for me to get to where I am today. I don't give myself props that I have graduated from college, or that I secured a job out of college, or that despite the fact that I'm not great in a school setting that I got pretty good grades. Celebrate the victories in your life! Where you are right now may not be your end game, but appreciate the journey, no matter where you go.

That's one of my many lessons learned for August 2013.

Food Post: Cajun Chicken Fettucine Alfredo

If there's one food that I could eat forever and ever, it's pasta. Pasta is that one dish where you can throw in everything you have and it will be one million kinds of delicious. So as I'm on a constant search for the perfect pasta dish on Pinterest (mine is here), there's one that sticks out at me and it looks a little something like this:

Cajun Chicken Fettucine Alfredo. At first, this dish sounds a bit weird because I never thought to bring cajun flavors to a cheesy dish, and yet I love the idea of it First, there's the cajun taste which I love because of the different spices that comes to the plate. Then there's the alfredo and the great thing about alfredo is that the cheeses you bring to the table can make pastas more smoky or savory. I found this amazingly delicious dish from Comfortably Domestic and it's now forever in my recipe rotation. I've made it twice at home and it is a HUGE hit.

Reset button

I think it's time for me to push the reset button on this blog.

Here's how my blogging cycle goes-I have an idea, I make a "I'm back and I hope to write more I promise!!!11!!!" post, then I run out of ideas, and then this blog runs dormant as spam comments fill up my inbox so quickly that it makes me dizzy.

So here is my reset on this blog without the promise that I will update regularly. I mean, I hope to write more now that I'm out of college, have a full-time job and as a result, need an outlet to improve my writing and make my voice sound like less of a ramble of ideas (who am I kidding!). However, I can always hope to make this blog more integrated in my life as I head into Chapter 3 in my life.

Let's see where this takes me.
