Hair videos that every woman with natural hair should watch.

Hello everyone!

As I'm still working on the work clothes post that I had promised, I want to at least share a little something with you all, so here are videos that have keep me away from my flat iron. What I mean by that is that these videos help keep me on the track to have healthy and work towards having disrespectfully big hair. The advice in these videos can be followed by ANYONE, not just women with kinky curly coily hair. I hope you find these useful.

The Target Beauty Bag

About a month ago, Target Style ran an ad for their Summer Beauty Bag giveaway which had samples of "must have" products for the summer. Like anyone else who likes free stuff, I logged in through Facebook, gave them my information and they confirmed that my beauty bag would be here in 6-8 weeks. Fast forward to June 12th and this is what comes in. Was there anything that I could use in here? Well, let's find out.

Experimenting with: The Curly Girl Method

It's funny how two people can have a good, long chit chat over curly hair. The story is that me and my internship supervisor had a good, long discussion about curly hair-we talked about how to take care of curly hair, products and the eternal struggles of taking care of curly hair and the eternal enemy humidity. Well, one thing led to another and then she let me borrow her copy of the ever so famous, much discussed Curly Girl: The Handbook by Lorraine Massey and Michele Bender. So now that I've read this book several times, here's my takeaway:

My last semester

Hello, checking in again!

So I sit here 3 months after my last post (oops!) pondering what I'm going to make of my last semester in school. Weird for me is that my last semester is going to be 100% work experience with few seminars. No more lectures, no more hurrying to do readings at the last minute and (thankfully) no more exams.

This transition is going to be weird for several reasons. Weird in that I get to pretend to go to work for 3 1/2 months and yet, I can still participate in undergrad life as I am still an undergrad. Also, I have to wear real work clothes (in which I will update in a future post). The part that really hasn't hit me yet is that a lot of kids that I went to school with will no longer be there because they've already started their post-grad lives. So the days in which you can scroll through your phone book and just call up someone and say "Hey let's meet for lunch at Chipotle" are over because they're already at work...and technically, so am I.

Also, my new project is to make new friends as an adult. This sounds like an impossible task because a lot most people make these kinds of relationships in college. I have no idea how to go about with this except to go to work, make connections and sometimes, hit up a bar but I can make this happen. I will push my anxieties aside and make this work!

Anywho, this was such a pointless post except to put my thoughts together. After I get ready for my second internship today (eek!) I'll prepare that work clothes post as soon as I press the publish button! :D

Be great!

I WORK OUT!!! (NOW!)

It's okay...I was singing it too!

From this post on, I solemly swear to work out 3 times a week for an hour! For anyone dealing with emotional problems and stress, it is an excellent way to distract yourself from stress OR a good way to take out negative thoughts. As Memorial Day here in the US is right around the corner, it's a constant reminder that summer is coming and it's a pretty good idea that you get summer ready. I am tired of being out of breath after walking across campus, I don't want to rely on a pretty very good metabolism and I want to get healthy. GAUNTLET. THROWN!

My overall goal is to tone and to get into better shape. I'm not setting a date when I want to see results because I hope that this becomes a lifestyle change. Also, I don't want to lose any weight (I'm 5'2, ~115 pounds).

So my mission has been stated, here's where I'm starting:

Depression sucks

This is one of those posts where I expose my vulnerabilities and feelings. Therefore, without a hint of irony, it will be behind a cut.

Costco does Makeup Brushes?! Follow-Up: Video Review

Since my post talking about the Costco Brushes were very popular, I did a video review. I hope you find this to be helpful in deciding whether or not to buy the brush.

As long as one person found this helpful, then I feel like I accomplished something :)
